10 kV Rectifier Transformer

The 10 kV rectifier transformer is a special‑purpose transformer with a rated high‑side input voltage of 10 kV. Specially designed for rectifier units, its primary winding is connected to the 10 kV industrial power grid, and its secondary delivers multiple sets of low‑voltage AC outputs, which are converted into DC power by rectifier cabinets. Different from general distribution transformers, it can withstand pulsating current and harmonic surges caused by rectifier loads, and is widely adopted in various industrial DC power supply applications.

Product Principle & Core Functions

  • Voltage Step‑down and Isolation: Step down 10 kV high‑voltage to low‑voltage suitable for rectifiers, realize electrical isolation between high‑voltage and low‑voltage sides to protect power grid and downstream DC equipment.
  • Short‑circuit Current Limiting: Custom‑designed short‑circuit impedance limits short‑circuit surge current in rectifier loops and protects valve components such as diodes and thyristors.
  • Harmonic Mitigation: Adopt multi‑winding phase‑shifting configuration (6‑pulse / 12‑pulse / 24‑pulse) to reduce harmonics injected into power grid and comply with power quality specifications.
  • Voltage Stabilization & Regulation: Equipped with off‑load / on‑load tap‑changers to stabilize DC output voltage for continuous industrial production processes.

Product Classification & Construction Types

  • Oil‑immersed Type (ZS Series): Cooling modes: ONAN (Oil Natural Air Natural), ONAF (Oil Natural Air Forced). Featuring large single‑unit capacity and moderate cost. Fitted with gas relay, pressure relief valve and oil‑temperature controller. Suitable for outdoor plant sites and high‑power metallurgical electrolysis working conditions.
  • Dry‑type Type (ZSG / ZQSC Series): Insulated by epoxy resin vacuum casting. Flame‑retardant, maintenance‑free and with low partial discharge. Applicable to indoor substations, metro traction, underground machine rooms and other locations with strict fire‑safety requirements.

Main Product Features

  • Reinforced winding and insulation design to resist harmonic heat generation and frequent impact loads, suitable for 24‑hour continuous operation.
  • High‑permeability silicon‑steel sheet core with low no‑load loss and low noise for excellent energy‑saving performance.
  • Connection group, phase‑shift angle and short‑circuit impedance can be customized according to rectification schemes.
  • Complete temperature‑measuring and protection‑monitoring devices are provided to support remote online operation monitoring.
  • Copper winding or aluminium winding optional; amorphous alloy core available for customized energy‑saving solutions.

Typical Application Fields

  • Metallurgy: DC power supply for non‑ferrous metal electrolysis, electroplating and smelting.
  • Rail Transit: 750 V / 1500 V DC power supply for metro and mine traction.
  • Industrial Drive: Speed‑regulation systems for rolling mills and large DC motors.
  • Environmental‑protection Equipment: DC power supply for electrostatic precipitators, sewage treatment and hydrogen‑energy electrolysis.
